Online reporting
Gettysburg Police Department is announcing a new online reporting mechanism for NON-EMERGENCY incidents. People who want to report a non-emergency incident within the Borough can now do so online. People can just click the link which will soon be posted on the Borough website, Police Facebook and Twitter pages to report their incident. The report form captures almost all the information the officer would usually gather. Folks can even upload photos to the complaint form should they desire. We want to stress this is for incidents that do not require the presence of police as the system is not monitored round the clock. The police department asks that those who do not desire contact please indicate so in the description block. Additionally, contact from the police, if desired may be hours to a day or so later.
All reports received from the Crimewatch Online Reporting System will receive an incident number and be reviewed/investigated by a sworn officer.
This gives the resident and visitors of the Borough one more mechanism to contact the police department as well as assisting the officers in minimizing contact with unknown individuals helping the officers with their social distancing.
As always, if you need the police do not hesitate to call 911 in the event of an emergency.

We thank everyone for their voluntary compliance with the Governor’s Order. Although we have had to modify our approach, we are here for you.
